An independent site about Åsele municipality, made for everyone who lives here or wants to come. It is run by a small editorial team and built on clear rules: a source for everything, our own words and no commission. The address åsele.nu, with å, leads here.
How we work
- Evidence first, publication second. Every listing, whether somewhere to sleep, a business or an event, has been cross-checked against its own website, Åsele municipality or Åselenytt, and the page says when. Anything we have not yet been able to confirm sits in the open under the heading still to do rather than being guessed at.
- Our text, not theirs. Adverts and newspaper notices supply the facts; the phrasing is ours.
- Free, and no commission. Nobody pays to be included, and no booking earns us anything. The links lead straight to the business.
- The site is a signpost. The aim is for you to click on to the Wärdshus, the market or Björnlandet, not to linger here.

The basis is Åsele municipality's pages on tourism, culture and trails, Åsele market's own site, the businesses' own sites, Åselenytt for events, Statistics Sweden for population, the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency for Björnlandet and OpenStreetMap for the map. The map is built on OpenStreetMap's geometry for the municipal boundary, rivers, lakes and places, simplified but not invented. The municipality's destination site aseleturism.se was down when the site was built in September 2026, so it has not yet been used as a source.
