Asele.nu
An independent site about Åsele municipality, made for everyone who lives here or wants to come. It is a sister to vilhelmina.nu and dorotea.nu, run by the same editorial team and built on the same rules. The address åsele.nu, with å, leads here.
How we work
- Nothing without a source. Every place to stay, business and event is checked against the business's own site or the municipality's pages, and marked with a date. What we could not verify is not here, but in an open list of what remains.
- Our own words. We do not reproduce advertisers' or newspapers' text. Summaries are rewritten.
- No commission. We charge nothing for a listing and get nothing on bookings. The links go to the businesses' own pages.
- Traffic out, not in. The site should help people find those who run something here, not capture them.
Sources
The basis is Åsele municipality's pages on tourism, culture and trails, Åsele market's own site, the businesses' own sites, Åselenytt for events, Statistics Sweden for population, the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency for Björnlandet and OpenStreetMap for the map. The municipal map is generated from OpenStreetMap's municipal boundary, lakes and places, not drawn by hand. The municipality's destination site aseleturism.se was down when the site was built in September 2026, so it has not yet been used as a source.
